That's the word coming from Christy Hammond, the brains behind Red Wings blog, Behind the Jersey, as of about an hour ago.Safe to say, it's an experience she never expected to ever have:
As of right now, you can buy... Section 111 Row 7 (2 seats / lower bowl) for $144 to Game #1 of Round 1Ever since the Tigers made it to the World Series last October, we've been seeing plenty of people come to Joe Louis Arena disguised as empty seats this season. Normally, seats this close to the ice wouldn't be available this late on the same day they went on sale. I wonder why.
Section 210 Row 2 (2 seats / upper bowl) for $126 to Game #1 of Round 1
Section 212A Row 22 (2 seats / upper bowl) for $63 (cheapest ticket aside from SRO) to Game #1 of Round 1
I'm not going to check other games, but it looks like you could get some great seats if you buy now!!

Thanks for the link Eric. I was shocked to see the availability. I know it's because the economy sucks. Sucks bad. From personal experience, my parents' company went from 65 employees right before 9/11 to 14 today. So it's understandable that people can't afford to buy playoff tickets after getting season tickets.
However, it amazes me that during the regular season the best tickets I could get were nosebleeds via Ticketmaster yet for the playoffs I was able to purchase 2nd row seats for the second game in Round 2 if the Wings make it. Just blows my mind. On one hand, I'm happy because I'd never be able to get those seats otherwise, but then it sucks because the crowd at the Joe isn't loud like it used to be...
