So it looks as if New York Islanders center Mike Comrie is getting more than comfortable in his new gig, both on and off the ice. Not only do his Islanders sit tied atop the Atlantic Division standings, but apparently his new flame - Hilary Duff - is getting comfortable sitting atop the free agent centerman.
From The Sun:
The pretty actress - who shot to fame in kids' TV show Lizzie Maguire - treated her ice hockey star boyfriend Mike Comrie to the saucy performance at exclusive New York hot spot Tenjune.
A partygoer said: "Hilary was having a wild night, drinking Veuve Clicquot straight out of the bottle. "She looked nothing like the sweet little Lizzie Maguire she once was as she treated Mike to a series of raunchy lap dances.
"The place was packed but Hilary didn't mind."
Currently, Mike Comrie leads the Islanders in scoring with 15 points through his first 12 games -- including two assists in last night's 3-2 win over the Rangers. There is certainly some optimism coming out of the Island these days; let's hope that Comrie can take a page out of Duff's book and can perform just as capably in front of a packed house.

Hee! Look at Earl, all fancy on FanHouse! I'm pretty sure that cartoon lap dances are exactly what AOL was looking for when they hired you.

Great job, Earl. As Katebits pointed out, there's been a distinct lack of cartoon lap dances here on FH lately.

Yeah, there were lots of punchlines that could have been written in (next time a contest?)--but obstruction was the best I could come up with. It carries such connotations as "clutching" and "grabbing"; I couldn't resist.

You mean you didn't actually know what a lap dance looked like?

What, no "high-sticking". That one's right in the wheelhouse.

Personally, I think Comrie should be called for 'high-sticking'. Bah BOOM boom.

That's the story I had to tell the, er, research assistant.

Yeah, it's too bad the NHL took the term 'gross misconduct' out of its rulebook this past summer. That term had pretty much everything covered.

Right, and was this 'research assistant' a big burly guy collecting a cover fee at the door?

I wanted to name a racehorse "Foolish Duff McBurr"
I have no idea what that means but Duff is always funny to say. She is hot anyway and Comrie is a good player and I love the Islanders. LET'S GO ISLANDERS!!!!

Isn't there an obscure NHL Rule about:
"Too many men in the box?"
GO ISLES!!!!
