Prior to New Jersey's tilt versus the Tampa Bay Lightning, Devils' sniper Zach Parise had played 229 NHL games, and compiled exactly ZERO fights. Not that he should be fighting, but you'd figure he'd have popped his cherry a bit sooner.
Well, thanks to Dan Boyle, not much of a scrapper himself, getting up in Zach's henhouse, Parise finally dropped the gloves, and actually ENJOYED the experience. Just look at the picture ... he's absolutely beaming
Zach Parise said he hadn't fought since midget hockey, but he didn't seem any worse for wear afterward, and actually said he didn't mind dropping the gloves at all.
"It seems okay," Parise said of fighting. "It was pretty fun. We can do that again."
I can imagine Devils fans aren't too keen on Parise getting his rocks off by dropping the gloves more often.
If you need something to do, give this photo a good caption. What is Parise really saying to Brian Gionta?
