Jarkko Ruutu Suspended Two Games, Loves It When Fans Hate Him

It didn't take long for the NHL to act on Jarkko Ruutu's elbow to the face of Maxim Lapierre during last night's game in Montreal. The result? Two games for Ruutu, as reported by TSN.

Naturally, as is the case in these situations, the Senators (the team Ruutu plays for) feel the suspension is too long, while the Canadiens (the team on the receiving end) feel Ruutu should be banned from ever playing hockey again. Okay, maybe not that far, but Canadiens coach Guy Carbonneau did add, "we all know what type of player (Ruutu) is, so I'll leave it at that." In case you needed a reminder:

Following the game, Ruutu made it clear that he loves role as super-pest, as quoted in the Ottawa Sun:
"They were cheering for me and I wanted to thank them," said Ruutu. "I appreciated the chants. It's not the first time. I want it to be black and white. I want people to love me or hate me."
Mission accomplished, Jarkko.
