Hockey Fight of the Day: Daniel Carcillo vs. Derrick Dorsett

As my colleague Adam Gretz pointed out earlier today, the fight between Nick Zherdev and Steven Stamkos was a pleasant surprise. Not only did we see two guys the hockey world would have never thought would ever drop the gloves, they also provided us with a very entertaining bout. Bravo.

But while that fight had its charms, there was another that may very well qualify for fight of the year. I'm talking about a bout last night in Columbus between Derek Dorsett of the Blue Jackets and Daniel Carcillo of the Phoenix Coyotes. as of just a few minutes ago, the readers at HockeyFights.com had given the fight a thumping rating of 9.1.

As you might recall, I warned everyone about Carcillo's sneaky left a couple of weeks back here at FanHouse, while I took a closer look at the rise of Derrick Dorsett over at The Sporting Blog back on Halloween.
