The curious and disturbing case of former player agent and junior hockey coach David Frost took another turn on Friday when he was found not guilty on four counts of sexual exploitation in an Ontario court. The case riveted many in the hockey community, as much of the testimony concerning the private lives of players in Canadian junior hockey contained a number of salacious details. The following comes from the CBC:
The charges stemmed from alleged incidents involving two former Hawks players he coached. And for those of you with long memories, this is the same David Frost who was once the player agent for ex-NHLer Mike Danton -- a man who is currently serving a sentence in federal prison for hiring a hitman to murder Frost. The young women who dated the players when they were 16 gave emotional testimony during the trial, contending Frost masterminded and participated in sexual threesomes with the Hawks players and their teenage girlfriends.
One of the women said Frost, age 29 at the time, persisted in having group sex with her and her boyfriend for a number of years.
The defence conceded that group sex is common among hockey players, but vehemently denied Frost ever took part in the sex acts.
