For the second game in a row Jamie Langenbrunner scored the game-winner in overtime, leading the Devils to a 4-3 come-from-behind win against Pittsburgh. Langenbrunner has now scored two goals in three consecutive games, while registering seven points. It's the Devils' eighth win in a row, as they overcame a 3-1 deficit with eight minutes to play in regulation. Brendan Shanahan started the rally for the Devils with a power play goal, while Langenbrunner was credited with the game-tying goal with 30 seconds remaining when his centering pass deflected in off of Ryan Whitney's skate.
Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby each recorded a goal and an assist for the Penguins as they continue to distance themselves in the scoring race. Marc-Andre Fleury did everything he could in net for Pittsburgh, as the Devils outshot the Penguins 43-16, including 4-0 in the overtime period.
Blue Jackets 1, Senators 0: Thanks to Steve Mason's seventh shutout of the season, the Blue Jackets picked up a key win in what has become a free-for-all in the Western Conference playoff race. Mason turned aside all 18 shots he faced, while Jakub Voracek scored the game's only goal at the 3:55 mark of the second period.
Flyers 6, Lightning 1: Martin Biron made 41 saves while Mike Richards scored a pair of goals in Philadelphia's 6-1 win in Tampa Bay. Jeff Carter also tallied two goals in the win, giving him the top spot in the NHL over Washington's Alex Ovechkin.
Oilers 3, Wild 1: After giving up 10 goals in its most recent home game, Edmonton was able to rebound on Friday with a 3-1 win over Minnesota. Dwayne Roloson stopped 29-of-30 shots, while Ales Hemsky, Ethan Moreau, and Lubomir Visnovsky provided the offense. Nicklas Backstrom made the start in net for the Wild, and was lifted in the second period after giving up three goals on 11 shots.
Flames 3, Predators 1: Calgary picked up its third win in a row thanks to a 3-1 win over Nashville. Mathew Lombardi, Andre Roy and Adrian Aucoin all scored goals for the Flames, while Miika Kiprusoff was strong in net making 28 saves.
