As of Wednesday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins have sold out 104 consecutive games at Mellon Arena. With the team likely headed for its third straight trip to the postseason, and boasting two of the top scorers in the NHL, it's doubtful that streak is going to be ending anytime soon. Needless to say, tickets are hard to get.
That said, if you're willing to sit by yourself in the nose bleed seats, you can sometimes find singles the day before certain games. But what if you want to take your five-year-old son for his birthday? Would you trade your wedding dress?
That question leads us to a Pittsburgh Craigslist posting featuring a person attempting to do just that. From the post:
HELLO I AM LOOKING FOR TO TICKETS FOR MY SONS 5TH BITHDAY WHICH IS NEXT WEEK. HE LOVES THE PENGUINS AND WANTS TO GO TO A GAME. I WOULD BE WILLING TO TRADE MY 1500 DOLLAR NEVER WORN WEDDING DRESS FOR THE TICKETS. KEEP THE DRESS OR SELL IT WHATEVER YOU WOULD LIKE.I responded to the ad looking to find out some more information, but have yet to receive a response (probably because I ignored the message at the bottom saying it's not OK to contact this person with services or other commercial interests).
So, hockey fans, what would you be willing to give up for tickets to see your favorite team? Or, on the other hand, what would it take for you to give up the tickets you already own? Would a $1,500 wedding dress do the trick?
