During tonight's game between the Bruins and Canadiens, Mike Komisarek and Milan Lucic had a couple interesting encounters. The video above is of the fight between the pair towards the end of the second period. At that point, the Habs were trailing 4-1 and maybe Komisarek was just looking to get his team jump started. Lucic dropped him with one punch this time around. Later in the game, Komisarek decided to cross check Lucic in the face (video after the jump). These two guys are really very cordial.
There's are also a few other sides to this story. In Game Two of this series Lucic gave a cross-check to the face of Maxim Lapierre, earning himself a match penalty and a suspension for Game Three. Chances are, this could have been a little on-ice justice applied by Komisarek. Here, Komisarek went 'eye for an eye' with a stick-breaking cross-check to Lucic's face earning a game misconduct of his own. We'll have to wait and see if there will be any penalties handed down for Komisarek, but there likely will be something handed down.
These guys also have a bit of a history. Back in November the two got into a fight and Lucic could been seen playing to the crowd afterward. Komisarek also hurt his hand badly in that fight, causing him to miss 16 games. No matter the motivation for going after Lucic, Komisarek certainly had a lot of it.
The "fans" of the Canadiens are an embarrassment! It's unbelievable an unacceptable that they dis the US national anthem and also their own goaltender! I hope he finds a way to walk away from them!
yeah i hear you there. the hab fans have to be the most arrogant fans out there. i mean really they think there shit does not stink. as for carey price, i hope he does get picked up by another team, just so he can backstop that team all the way & put the habs out of the playoffs ! ( yet again ) :)
I am an unabashed fan of all Boston sports teams. I am naturally delighted that the Bruins defeated the Habs especially after the performance of there fans at Tuesday game in Montreal. For shame for shame on all that booed during the singing of our national anthem. I would like to read what excuse they have for such a shoddy performance not, from the Habs but the ticket buyers.
My question is..why isn't Komisarek Suspended? The hit was premeditated..it was worse than Lucic's hit..oh ya..the HAB rule? Where Habs can whine and Bruins get suspended for borderline incidents..yet, Habs can injure Bruins and immediately the league moves to the next game?? Where is the justice? I would like to see Campbell grow some balls and suspend a Montreal (or wherever he ends up signing next year) for minimum 5 games to give the proper message!
