The more things change, the more they stay the same. We've got a new president, gas prices have fallen and unemployment has risen. Yet Saturday's Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals will have a familiar look to it, as the Penguins and Red Wings are meeting in a finals rematch for the first time in 25 years, even if the teams themselves don't exactly look the same. Will the results match last year's? Find out what we think, after the jump.

Boy are you all gonna feel silly when the Wings win in 5. Just like last year, when the Pens cruised through the Eastern Conference playoffs, only to be shut-out in Games 1 and 2, the Pens haven't played a team yet that has anything resembling a defense. The truth is, the Western Conference is just better than the East, and it is all because of defense. All those odd-man rushes the Pens have been used to will all of a sudden be gone, and frustration will ensue, again...

Hope you don't choke on that "in five" prediction. Better yet, hope you don't have the house riding on it. The Pens have the talent and speed in the crowd to handle more than most people think. It will definitely go more than 5.

look Yes Red Wings have a great offence connected with a fantastic defense, however, the Penguins are not the same team as last year...their scoring opportunities have increased let alone with shots made...tho during their past playoff games this season their defence looked off i believe they will pick up the pace against the red wings to win it all

Kevin Schultz is the only who has his head on straight. C'mon you really think Pittsburgh can do it. Like John said, the Western conference is far better than the Eastern. Pittsburgh is a better team than last year but they still dont have the depth that it takes to win. They were cocky last year with their youth, im sure they learned from last year but it takes more than just that. Boston is a far better team. It should have been an original 6 finals.
WINGS in 6 again like last year.

If it should've been Boston, then I guess they should've won. But alas, they went 7 games with Carolina and lost. The team that the Pens swept in the next series. Odd. If Boston is a "far better" team than Pittsburgh, why aren't they in the finals?
It's funny how all you Wings fans talk about the depth of Pittsburgh when there's more than just Sid and Geno who are scoring all those points. Of course, it's probably unsettling to face the team with the 2 players with the most points in the regular season AND the playoffs.

I'm a Boston Bruins fan and have watched all the games so far. From a nutral point of view I give the edge to the Pens. They look much faster and crip on offense. Detroit looked like they were skating in slow motion. Pens in 5 games!! Hey Detroit good luck with the new Lions QB. Another 44 #1 picks and the Lions might win a game! lol

Again, that is because there is a lot less defense played in the East, and the West is a lot tighter defensively. The Wings will have the ability to open up their offense against the Pens, while still playing tight defensively. I know the teams are not the same as they were last year, but the style of play is still the same. The defense of the Wings will prevail again, the poor competition in the East just makes Pitt look better than they really are, and just like last year, you will all learn it again.
Pittsburgh will win a Cup in the near future, but it will be a year when Detroit is not in the Finals.

Anyone who thinks the Pens will win- get a straightjacket out! The Redwings have the maturity and depth to win in 5! I think the Pens have improved from last year but not good enough. Come on- open your eyes. REDWINGS WIN!!

The penguins are a much better team this year than last. They have matured. I look for Pitt to take it 5 maybe even a sweep. Go Pens.

I thought the headline said "our experts". Where are the experts? All I saw was a bunch of nobodies that don't know anything about hockey. Give me a break, "experts", my grandmother knows more about hockey and she's been dead 30 years.

The Wings are ready to shell out another Spanking. Dont feel bad Penguins fans... To say you made it to the top only to be beat by the Wings isn't so bad. People expect it. No Mercy on the Wings. They must be Punished for getting a big head.
