I don't think there's any question that hockey players are the most approachable, fan-friendly athletes in sports. I still remember being in high school and hanging around Mellon Arena after games and getting a chance to meet (and score autographs!) from guys like Alexei Kovalev, Johan Hedberg and Andrew Ference (hey, these were the lean years), not to mention the one night we had the opportunity to ask Owen Nolan why he backed down from Kryzsztof Oliwa in a fight. The Penguins are still reveling in their win, while they spent Saturday night on the town with their new friend, Stanley.
The PensBlog originally posted this up close and personal fan video of several players (and the cup) spending time with fans.
I can't say I've ever seen a Super Bowl team, for example, taking the Vince Lombardi Trophy around town like that. The party started on Saturday afternoon as forward Bill Guerin threw a private get-together that was unexpectedly crashed by a random fan named Jeff March. From Mike Wereschagin of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review:
Maxime Talbot, who scored both goals Friday night for the Penguins, walked up to March at one point and asked to which of his teammates March was related. The jig was up. "Actually, I just snuck in here," March said. Not to worry, Talbot told him. "I won't tell anyone."
The team's victory parade is planned for 12 PM ET on Monday.

Its great to see Pit win a cup again, but I am confused. All the Pittsburg fans that have the nerve to come in here and trash talk the Wings (18 years strait to the playoffs, 4 cups in the last 12 year, 11 cups, awards and stats that support them as being a dynasty). Considering you so called fans almost allowed a great organization to sell three years ago and now your like a bunch of termites "out of the wood work".
Next I will get a bunch of replies about being "Long time fans", but yet these "Long time fans" were willing to dissolve a team because the team was not winning and could not pay to keep the lights on. So what happens when the team is not doing well next time? And there will be a next time! IS IT GOODBYE PENS?

As most flyer fans, you are miss informed as usual. the fans did fight to keep the team here. it was the old owners (Baldwin and etc) that wanted to see the team sold. you are just like the wings, cry baby cry baby

First off.You Wings fan were on here trash talking as much as we were. So i don't want to hear anything. Second off, We did not want the team to leave. So before you sit there and say that we are not loyal why don't you get your fact straight.
If you want to trash talk. The Redwings dynasty is over and the Pens just began.
