That's not stopping his name from appearing on the team's roster on its official Web site.

So, did somebody let the cat out of the bag a bit early, or is it simply a random mistake on the Web? We've reached out to the Anaheim Ducks for comment and are awaiting clarification.
UPDATE: Still no word from the Ducks -- or anybody, for that matter -- but the NHLPA's website has Boynton listed as a member of the Ducks, and his 2009-10 salary as $1.5 million. Interesting that there has been no official news or report on this. Boynton's a good enough player that it should at least get some mention from somebody when he signs.
UPDATE No. 2: And it's official, Nick Boynton is a member of the Anaheim Ducks.

A played is added to a roster on the paperwork on the deal is completed and OK'ed. The team then has the option of sending out a press release, and can do it when they please.
In this case, everything was taken care of, but the Ducks took their time letting everyone know.
