Reports began to surface on Tuesday that legendary forward Jeremy Roenick is set to announce his retirement on Thursday. One of the best American-born players ever, the nine-time All-Star will finish his career with 513 goals, 703 assists, and 1,216 points as a member of the Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings and San Jose Sharks. And for us video game junkies? He'll also be remembered as one of the most dominant cyber-athletes to ever be digitally captured with 16-bit graphics.
In April, 2008, IGN named Roenick's appearance in NHL '93 as the No.4 video game athlete performance ever, trailing on Michael Vick in Madden 2004, Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl, and Mike Tyson in Mike Tyson's Punch Out The first two are no-brainers, in my opinion. Vick in Madden '04? Better than Roenick? I'm not convinced.
Just for laughs, here's a rather incredible YouTube tribute to Roenick's video game dominance.

I was wondering when I would see an article like this. Video games were my first introduction to the world of Jeremy Reonick. He was the best in the NHL series on Sega. Also how I got introduced to Sergei Zubov who my brother was always able to score 50 goals a game with. He found some glitch that only worked with Zubov. lol. That was... NHL 96 I think.

LOL!
I remember J-Ro's days as a 'Hawk, he was clearly dominant during those Sega game years, with Eddy the Eagle in front of net, and Chelios on D...good god, tough team to beat.

Play the best hockey game of all time on your pc or via netplay in online leagues.. Play with updated rosters, uniforms, logos, and player attributes.
Roenick is more human than human in this game.
He is analogous to the king of the jungle.. Like a Lion, only a Lion that rides a elephant.. But the video that should of been posted was from Swingers the movie, when Vince Vaughn knocks Gretzky out of the game with Roenick and a fight ensues.
