We get to know NHL players with five quick questions. Today's subject: Patrick Kane, the dynamic young Chicago Blackhawks forward. His team continues to lead the Central Division early in the season.
What is your earliest hockey memory?
It's got to be skating down the family pond in Buffalo.
What are your favorite, and least favorite, things about playing in the NHL?
My favorite has to be just playing pro hockey. It was my dream for so long. My least favorite thing would probably have to be living under the microscope. Everyone is watching you.
Do you have any superstitions or pregame rituals?
I don't really have a lot of superstitions. In fact, we don't have a lot of superstitious guys (on the Blackhawks). If it works, I stick with it. As far as rituals go, I do tape my stick the same way all the time.
Who is the one player in the NHL you would like to throw a good, hard, clean check on?
Probably Johan Franzen from Detroit. Last year in the playoffs we got in a scrum after a whistle, and he took my mouthpiece from me and threw it on the ice.
If you could be one teammate, who would you be and why?
That's easy. Marian Hossa. He's had a great career so far.
