It's been established. Alex Ovechkin is a one-man highlight reel. There might not be a hockey player whose goals get more hits on YouTube, and for good reason, because it seems he's doing something special on at least a weekly basis. He added to his long list of memorable goals Sunday at Verizon Center. As his Capitals staged a furious rally to beat Pittsburgh 5-4 in overtime, Ovechkin became the first NHL player to hit 40 goals this season. Before he added his 41st and 42nd goals later in the game, he did something he has yet to do in his career (outside of the his hat tricks).
He scored a goal that forced a stoppage of the game.
On his first of three goals against Pittsburgh, Ovechkin broke the in-net camera. Watch the video.
Ovechkin's impact on the team and game is obvious. What could be more impressive than his goal-scoring is the fact that the Capitals are now 17-1 since he took over as team captain, and they ran their win streak to 14 Sunday.

Ovechkin is such an amazing hockey player. I love to watch how skilled he is and his love of the game is so evident every time he takes the ice. He is the most talented player in the NHL and the Caps are so lucky to have him.
I agree, Im a Flyers fan and just wish we had a player like him. He is amazing to watch hi.
ALEX IS THE BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!---TAKE THAT DON CHERRY---JEFF
Ovechkin is, without question, the premier player in the NHL today. If he isn't given the MVP trophy again this year, it'd be a real shame.
Go ovie!!
I saw the game and it was a great game, but here is the issue I have with you. You write about Ovi breaking a camera but in so many weeks i have not read anything about the LA Kings winning streak. I guess is more important to write about breaking a camera than to give where credit is due, no disrespect to the Ovi.
